Rooting and Fruiting

A really exciting project that is appreciated by the whole community is the idea of ‘rooting and fruiting’. A local man is growing fruit trees from seed and nurturing them before selling to N4BW for distribution to schools. On a nominated ‘School Tree Planting Day” these emerging trees are planted in schools across both St Michael’s Zone and Makumba Zone to provide shade and additional food in the form of luscious fruit as well as offering the children the practical experience of planting and caring for the trees.

Some kind donors have asked to contribute to this project and are sponsoring trees in specified schools at a cost of 10 trees for £20. To these people we offer our thanks for helping us to tackle aspects of food poverty, climate change and skill development
