A Sustainable Project
The solar light project has proven itself to be sustainable in more ways than one. Primarily, natural sunlight is harvested for use during the very dark evenings which begin at around 6pm, with Sitima being situated relatively close to the equator.
Wonderfully however N4BW has now been able to withdraw from managing the project as the Sitima community has taken it on – ordering lamps, managing the selling agents and most importantly maintaining access to solar lamps by the community.

What a privilege
One of our volunteers is currently out in Malawi and in this post she describes the joy of handing over new purpose built house to two octogenarians who lost their homes and all their belongings in a cyclone earlier in the year
A visit to Sitima by our founder
Alice Davidson is part way through a month long monitoring visit to our projects in Sitima. She will soon report to trustees and donors on how each project has developed.
Tree Planting Day
At a meeting with the Headteachers of all 17 schools, way back in October, a decision was made to make a collective stand against Climate Change, by hosting a St Michael’s Zone Tree Planting Day on Wednesday 6 February.
