Praying for peace
This prayerful event was organized in the spirit of the United Nations International Day of Peace.
Nelson Mandela once said, “Peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is the foundation of justice, equality, and opportunity.”
For Malawi, the United Nations theme “Act now for a peaceful world” is especially relevant, as the country recently held presidential elections during which all candidates signed a Peace Pledge, committing themselves to leadership rooted in dialogue, tolerance, and respect.
However, peace cannot be the responsibility of leaders alone. As Sr. Felister reminded the young people, each individual has a role to play in building harmony, by choosing unity over division and tolerance over hatred.
