
Mponda Gear in operation
Many of you will have heard of “Tippy Taps” a wonderful hand made, low cost, easy to operate invention facilitating the easy washing of hands, particularly after using a latrine. Well just this week we have learned that here in Malawi they are referred to as mponda gear.
Happily we are seeing more of them in use in schools being used by learners and teachers alike.
Designs vary from school to school but they are all effective in reducing the spread of infection.

Disability Project
In September and October of this year Sheila and Jane were in Sitima working with people with disabilities. Disabled people and their families are very often among the poorest in a very poor area.
International Women’s Day
Its wonderful to think that all over the world, on this day, women are being celebrated. We are having our celebrations here in Sitima too.
