Mponda Gear in operation
Many of you will have heard of “Tippy Taps” a wonderful hand made, low cost, easy to operate invention facilitating the easy washing of hands, particularly after using a latrine. Well just this week we have learned that here in Malawi they are referred to as mponda gear.
Happily we are seeing more of them in use in schools being used by learners and teachers alike.
Designs vary from school to school but they are all effective in reducing the spread of infection.

Irrigation system
N4BW has installed a solar-powered drip irrigation system that allows edible crops to be grown all year.
Happiness for Loveness
Loveness is six years old and has cerebral palsy, a condition which has severely limited her mobility but now it has all changed.
Kachulu School
This school, in a particularly impoverished area has been lacking toilets – but not any more. Thanks to the generosity of Irish Aid, N4BW has been able to build six new toilets on the school site.
