Joint project in Sitima and Norwich

St Francis of Assisi Primary School in Norwich and people in the community in Sitima have taken part in a joint venture – making clothes.

The distance between two communities – thousands of miles apart – has not prevented them from carrying out a joint project. Together they have made more than thirty dresses, shirts and shorts for the children in Malawi. Each item of clothing made in the UK by the children of the Primary School, has a small card secreted in the pocket of the item for the recipient. The clothes made in Norwich are making their way over to Sitima with the first three dresses having already been given to children with special needs in the community.

Below you can see the local tailor, Mr. Phalusa and his assistant Elita with the first dresses made to the Norwich design.
